Data is the blood line for any modern organisation.  Research has shown that businesses cannot afford to lose data. In fact, as much as 60% of small businesses that lose data would shut down within six months. And the most common cause of data loss is hard drive failure. In fact, research by DeepSpar has shown that it accounts for 38 percentage of data loss scenarios. With the proliferation of mobile devices, mobile device data loss is an even bigger concern. When employees use mobile devices to access company systems, critical business information may inevitably reside on these devices, and if the phone or laptop is stolen, this information could end up in the wrong hands. Then there are data losses due to malicious intent of a disgruntled employee. Consider the situation where a resentful employee intentionally deletes critical business information from the server before leaving the company. Such data loss would cripple the company for a long time.

The solution, however, is obvious, businesses should diligently backup their data and digital assets.

Performing backups, however, should always be frictionless. If it is too hard or too intrusive, none will it be ever done and organisations would be left as vulnerable as before. Which is why we at InspireTech developed GigaCentral to ensure that backups can be done in the most unobtrusive way possible.

Setup is a one time event, allowing specifications such as the folder, time, frequency of backups; after which GigaCentral just takes over and laboriously perform the backups without the need of any user intervention.

File deduplication features ensure that if duplicated files are to be backed up, only one copy is stored to further save on space.

Backups can also be performed across multiple tiers of storage ensuring complete redundancy of data in the event of a catastrophic failure. This is inline with the 3-2-1 backup methodology where data is maintained in 3 locations: local hard disk, GigaCentral appliance and cloud, 2 different media with at least 1 copy offsite.

The fact that the data is replicated across different physical locations also means that there is no single point of failure that would result in data losses.
